Australian Margot Robbie is one of the most beautiful modern actresses. Natural blonde with a bright smile and a perfect figure always plays “dream girls”.

However, there is one role in her filmography that stands out from the usual role. Have you seen the desperately ugly Margot?

Everyone is looking forward to the appearance of Margot Robbie as a Barbie doll in Greta Gerwig’s new comedy. And really – who else could be trusted to portray the most famous toy in the world, which created a kind of girlish cult? And we decided to remember that Margo can be completely different, and play not only conventional beauties. Below is an example that will prove it to you.

Margot Robbie became widely known after appearing in Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street: her scene of seducing the hero Leonardo DiCaprio will leave indifferent only a person who is completely indifferent to both cinema and female charms. For this short role, the Australian received the Empire Award as the best debutante of 2014.

The directors began to offer Robbie many interesting projects, and, finally, she got a very difficult role, a real career challenge. In 2018, the actress presented the costumed premiere of “Two Queens”, dedicated to the history of the tragic relationship between Elizabeth I Tudor and Mary Stuart, Queen of Scots.

Margo played Queen Elizabeth, and the role of Mary, the widow of the French king, went to Saoirse Ronan.

Recall that between the two women, who are cousins by blood, there was a very complex relationship, implicated in sympathy, rivalry, and, most importantly, conflicts of succession to the throne. Historians decipher this relationship by examining the letters that Tudor and Stuart exchanged for many decades. The filmmakers went one step further by imagining a meeting between the two queens that didn’t actually happen.

The women never come face to face – they talk, moving on opposite sides of the canvas. In the film, this is explained simply: Elizabeth did not want her very beautiful sister to see what she looked like, the Queen of England.

There are several theories regarding the appearance of Elizabeth Tudor, daughter of Henry VIII, and Anne Boleyn. Naturally red-haired and white-skinned, she, as researchers suggest, abused white lead, exposing herself to heavy metal poisoning. To hide damaged skin, the “mistress of the seas” … whitened even more and, in addition, wore a copper-colored wig, starting a kind of fashion.

The creators of the film “Two Queens” presented their version of events: on the screen, a young, in love and beautiful Elizabeth falls ill with smallpox. The queen manages to save her life, but she loses her beauty: her delicate skin is disfigured by potholes, and her hair climbs in bunches.

In an attempt to disguise the consequences of the disease, Anne Boleyn’s daughter fails and becomes an evil caricature of herself. This hardens her and ultimately affects the fate of the unfortunate Mary Stuart.

Margot Robbie agreed to complex disfiguring makeup to embody the transformation of her character’s appearance and character – and she succeeded! Although in some episodes the beauty is simply unrecognizable.
