In August 2020, Facebook shares fell 18%, reaching their all-time low. First of all, it was related to the worldwide advertising boycott, which was announced to the social network by the world’s largest advertisers.

 Since Instagram has been part of a corporation since 2012, the visual social network has also suffered serious financial damage. Also, as you know, the consumption of content from mobile devices is steadily growing every year. Against the backdrop of all these factors, Facebook rolled out important updates.

1. Facebook introduced a copyright tracking tool

rights manager- a tool for tracking copyright content. It will allow you to easily recognize pages on Facebook and Instagram that have copied the text of your post, as well as using images and videos you have made.

How does Rights Manager work and who is it for?

Rights Manager runs on the Facebook Creator Studio platform. To start using the tool, just log in with your social network account and add the content you want to protect to the reference library. If the program finds matches with other pages, you as the content author will be prompted to enable post monitoring, content blocking, or assign a link with ownership.

The Rights Manager copyright tracking tool is suitable for:

  • Publishing houses;
  • Bloggers;
  • Business accounts;
  • Individuals who regularly publish unique content.

    Also in the Rights Manager, there is a separate

    copypaste complaint form if you are not using Creator Studio.

2. Facebook combined Instagram and Messenger chats

The backends of Facebook and Instagram have moved to cross-platform communication. After a major app update, users will be able to merge Instagram and Messenger chats. In the US, this feature is already fully available. Now the Facebook Messenger functionality will appear in Insta-chat and vice versa.

3. Facebook lifted restrictions on the amount of text on an advertising image

Previously, advertisers could not use images in ads that contained more than 20% text. A special service was responsible for checking the content and gave an error. Last Wednesday, September 23rd, the 20% text limit was removed from the Help Center and remained as a recommendation, not a requirement. This factor will not affect the number of ad impressions.
