So, most airlines take girls no older than 30 years old, of average height, and not overweight as flight attendants. But that’s nothing – employees in an airline with a five-star rating are much more scrupulously selected. We tell you what beauty rules they must strictly follow for a successful career in the sky.
Did you know that not only hotels but also airlines are five-star? These include elite carriers who are ready to provide their customers with the highest service on board. It is not surprising that employees in such companies are selected according to the most severe criteria. If this is a pilot, then a professional inside and out, and if a stewardess, then a spitting image of a model.
On the Web, you can find many personal stories of former employees of elite airlines, in which they enthusiastically talk about their work experience. We recently came across one of these reviews from a Qatar Airways flight attendant. She spoke about the requirements for flight attendants of companies with a five-star rating, and also debunked several myths on this topic.
It turned out that in fact, not only girls who seem to have descended from the cover of a gloss are accepted for work. The main requirement is that the figure is proportional, and the growth allows you to reach the mark of 212 centimeters without shoes – it is at this level that the top shelf in the plane is located. Sometimes girls manage to do this only after a series of workouts – stretching and yoga are great for this.
But the assertion that five-star companies do not take flight attendants with crooked teeth, skin imperfections, or large moles on the face is nothing more than a myth. However, with braces or caps, an employee will still not be accepted into the company.
Highly rated airlines take the image of flight attendants very seriously. Each time before departure, the flight attendants go through grooming checks, during which everything is subjected to a thorough check: from uniforms, makeup, and hairstyles to tights, underwear, manicure, and perfume.
The flight attendants of the elite Qatari airlines have only three main hairstyles. A ponytail can only be collected by those who have a length of no more than 15 centimeters. Otherwise, you will need to either put your hair in a bun with an invisible cobweb or make a French shell.
Short haircuts are not prohibited, but they must be classic: no asymmetry or extreme. Trendy coloring options are also prohibited: these include bright shades, highlighting, balayage and status. Employees of five-star companies are intolerant of gray hair (although, it would seem, a trend!) – it is recommended to paint over it in time.
The make-up of flight attendants is also subject to strict beauty rules. So, extended or false eyelashes, glitter, and smokey eyes are prohibited. Mascara can be used exclusively in black, and eyeliner – both black and brown. At the same time, in general, catchy makeup, even a little in the Arab aesthetics, is very welcome – it is believed that it looks best in the dim light of the aircraft cabin.
Typically, flight attendants on Qatari airlines use heavy foundations, shades in burgundy, brown, or pink, and bright matte lipsticks. A manicure can be done either in the tone of lipstick or stay on a classic jacket or transparent varnish. All kinds of nail design elements – rhinestones, drawings, and funny inscriptions – are not available to flight attendants. Another taboo is completely bare nails, not varnished at all.
On what grounds can flight attendants be removed from a flight at all? For example, if a cold jumped on the girl’s lips, a severe rash appeared on her face, which could not be hidden under a thick layer of foundation, or if there was a severe burn on the skin.
