Anna German died many years ago, but her memory lives on. We talk about the fate of her only son.

Anna German first became a mother at the age of 39: the doctors were categorically against it, but the singer dreamed of a child. The fears of doctors were not without reason: in the summer of 1967 in Italy, Anna got into a terrible car accident and miraculously survived. 49 fractures, including the spine, damage to internal organs, a week of unconsciousness, another six months immobilized, in a cast up to the very neck. Herman had to re-learn how to walk, talk, and breathe deeply. Sing.

All this time, her beloved man, engineer Zbigniew Tucholsky, remained by her side. They met in 1960 and got married only 12 years later. Three years later, their son, Zbigniew Jr., was born. Affectionately – Zbyshek.

Is that happiness?

Anna was able to return to the stage (and the audience greeted her like a heroine), give birth to a child, and her beloved husband was nearby. It would seem, what else can you dream of? But then the disease intervened: Herman was diagnosed with a malignant tumor. The singer suffered from unbearable pain, but continued to go on stage – her hands were tied by contracts concluded in advance. And she could not let her beloved viewer down. Often Anna performed in dark glasses so that people would not see her tears.

Alas, in the early 80s, Anna could no longer even get up. The singer had to urgently interrupt the tour, and after that, she did not go on stage anymore. Doctors were powerless, and all the manipulations, including several operations, did not give a result. On August 26, 1982, Anna Herman died. She was only 46 years old, and her little son had just turned 7.

Zbigniew Jr.

Anna’s husband turned out to be monogamous and, after the death of his adored wife, never married again. But he reconciled with his mother-in-law, with whom he did not get along at all during the life of his wife. They were brought together not only by grief but also by the need to educate Zbigniew Jr.

The boy was surrounded by care and love: his dad and grandmother tried to do their best to ease his pain from the loss of his mother. By the way, grandmother Irma lived a long life – she died at 97 years old. Zbigniew was always withdrawn and silent, and after the death of his mother, he became even more withdrawn into himself. True, this did not prevent him from studying well at school, and then at the university.

They say that Zbigniew Jr. grew up like his father – tall, stately, strong. He inherited a beautiful voice from his mother but refused to study music. He doesn’t listen to his mother’s songs either – it’s too hard.

Zbigniew Jr. went to his father not only in appearance – they also have the same tastes. Since childhood, the guy loved trains, and railways, in addition, he got his father’s analytical mindset and a penchant for technical creativity.

No money

Years later, Zbigniew Jr. headed the Polish Society of Narrow Gauge Railways. According to some reports, today Anna’s son Herman works as an appraiser at the Ministry of Culture of Poland, where he arranges conferences and exhibitions and writes articles and books on the topic of railway transport.

Zbigniew Jr. is not married. Perhaps, isolation prevents him from meeting the very one. The latest news about Anna Herman’s son says that Zbigniew the father and Zbigniew the son barely make ends meet. The pensions of the first and the small salary of the second are barely enough to live on, and they do not receive a percentage of the singer’s songs. Others would have gone to court in their place, but the Tucholskys are above this. Father and son do not give interviews and try not to remind themselves of themselves.
