In reality, of course, this is not the case. The philtrum is a vestige that we inherited from our ancestors. For mammals, it helps to keep the nose constantly wet: through a narrow gap, due to the capillarity of the surface, moisture enters the nose, which helps the animal to determine the position of odor sources.

The two vertical ridges that run along the sides of the hollow are called filtrum columns. With age, they smooth out, and it is thanks to this that we read the age of a person by the face. It often happens that a woman gets rid of wrinkles, and still does not look younger.

Clear filtrum columns are a must for beautiful lips. It is because of this that excessive contouring “kills” youth: lips that are swollen too much turn into cakes that close the cavity, thereby “aging” the girl.

  • Protect your skin from harsh environments. Use moisturizers and cosmetics with an SPF factor. 
  • Drink water. Every day our body needs about two liters of fluid, and if you train or live where it’s hot, then more.
  • Choose your makeup carefully. It is necessary to buy it, taking into account your skin type and its aging. Don’t forget to apply and rinse properly.
  • Get enough sleep! Sleep is a great healer. At night, our body is restored, and therefore we should not neglect the rest.
  • Do a facial massage. This is a way to relax facial muscles and prevent wrinkles.
