Fragile and graceful ballerinas have a huge number of beauty secrets that help them always look perfect. And now we are not talking about a special nutrition system for keeping yourself in ballet shape.

In addition, graceful beauties on pointe shoes have other secret features that may seem strange to many ordinary women at first.

The world of ballet attracts with its mystery, and the main actresses in tutus and pointe shoes seem to many to be a real ideal of fragility and femininity. At the same time, few people know about the underside of the ballet world, namely the usual beauty routine of dancers. But some of the beauty rituals of ballerinas will definitely seem strange to most of us!

For example, did you know that ballet dancers rarely wash their hair? Usually, they do this only once a week – and it’s not at all that they do not have time for this due to constant training and rehearsals. The whole secret is that oily hair at the roots is best gathered in a tight, smooth bun, with which ballerinas go on stage. To prevent strands from falling out of their hair, dancers also usually fix the bun with a special hairnet.

Make-up for performances in front of the public is also done in compliance with special rules. For example, ballerinas are strictly forbidden to wear red lipstick. The fact is that under the light of spotlights, its real shade can be distorted. As a result, it may seem to the audience in the hall that the lips of the dancers are made up with orange or (even worse!) blue lipstick. Primas simply cannot afford such embarrassment right on the stage!

In a special way, ballerinas take care of the skin of the legs, which is most often injured due to dancing in narrow and hard pointe shoes. For example, they do not remove calluses because they protect the skin of the feet better than regenerated skin that is prone to blistering. Ballerinas are recommended to remove growths only in one case – if the calluses hurt. Then podologists recommend getting rid of calluses with the help of a medical pedicure.

Witty ballerinas cope with menstruation. In “these days” they do not have the opportunity to refuse performance or another rehearsal in order to lie down at home. Dancers save themselves from stomach pain with pills, but they use a trick to combat leaks: they wear dark skirts and tights and replace pads with superabsorbent tampons. For safety, ballerinas also use panty liners, which are cut into the shape of the gusset of their ballet leotard. The girls achieve the maximum fit of the gasket with the help of tights, which are worn over the suit.
