The State Emergency Service told about alternative ways of communication, in case there is no mobile connection.

Check the serviceability of the smartphone

If your phone is out of range for a long time, you should check that it is working. All you have to do is reboot your mobile phone and remember if it fell into you or got wet.

If the cell phone is faulty

Ask someone to call.

Write down all the phones of your loved ones and take them with you! In a stressful situation, you can forget the numbers, and if it is written down – it will help.

If the mobile phone is working

This means that the network is not available in a certain area. Or problems only with your mobile operator.

Carry with you seven different operators, with enough money in the account. You can also ask others if he catches them.

Nobody cares: what to do?

In the absence of mobile communication, the SES recommends resorting to the following emergencies:

1. Find a landline

The main alternative to cellular (mobile) communication is the means of fixed wired communication (fixed telephones). If there is a landline telephone in the apartment or in the apartment of neighbors (acquaintances, friends), uninterrupted communication with emergency services and other landline and mobile subscribers will be provided.

2. Use messengers

If you do not have access to fixed telephones, it is possible to communicate using Viber, WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, Messenger Facebook, Instagram, etc.

Messengers will work when you have access to the Internet, including when connected to a Wi-Fi network.

If you need to call emergency services using any messenger, you must first find out the phone numbers on which the messengers of the relevant services are registered or links to the profiles of official pages on social networks. This information can be obtained in advance on the official websites of emergency services (agencies) or by calling 101, 102, 103, 104, 112.

3. Use applications that allow you to use radio communications

The use of mobile phones as a means of radio, for example, a walkie-talkie. To do this, you need to pre-install special messengers on your mobile phone (smartphone), for example, Voxer Walkie Talkie, Walkie Talkie, Two Way: Walkie Talkie.

Keep in mind that in this case, your communication will not be private.

Anyone will be able to listen to it if they accidentally or intentionally get on the same frequency. The advantage is that you can be in touch with all participants in the dialogue at the same time. To organize such a connection, you need to agree with the subscribers on a dedicated channel (in simple words, frequency, or range) for communication. The frequency (range) is chosen by the subscribers arbitrarily.

The range of such messengers varies from 60 to 100 meters and depends on possible obstacles, as most of their work is based on Bluetooth technology (in the basement, the communication range can be reduced to several meters).

It should be remembered that any messengers must be downloaded in advance, with stable access to the Internet, as well as to test their performance in advance.

4. Move to another location

In the absence of any connection and access to the Internet, we recommend that you move to the nearest facility, which is equipped with fixed telephone and/or radio communication, in compliance with your own safety measures. Objects that must be equipped with fixed telephones are local government buildings, post offices, fire and rescue units, police departments, ambulance stations, representatives of other law enforcement agencies (National Guard, SBU, Armed Forces, Security Police ).

What to do if there is no connection and you are many

In case neither you nor your relatives have any technical means of communication in a crisis situation, it is necessary to clearly agree on the place and time of the meeting. If you are planning to evacuate to a specific place – determine the point and time of collection and agree that you will wait there, for example, for 24 hours, and then go on to the next destination.

What to do with the child?

Young children should put in their pockets or sew a note with the full name of the child, his parents, or other contact persons, address, and telephone numbers. School-age children should be warned what to do if there is no communication.
