Scientists from the University of Colorado – Honey Mansour and Terra McKinnish – analyzed statistics on married couples for the period from 1960 to 2000.

The researchers found out the age at which people got married, received an education, what income they had, etc.

It turned out that those who formalized their relationship with a younger or, conversely, older partner, as a rule, had a low income, insufficient education, did not have outstanding abilities in any field, and even could not boast of appearance.

This trend was especially evident in couples where the man was much younger than his wife, or, on the contrary, much older. Such men earned significantly less than their peers.

At the same time, people who connected their lives with peers, on the contrary, had a good education, work, and, therefore, income.

Scientists attribute this to the fact that peers, as a rule, enter into marriage, having already graduated from college and getting a prestigious job.
