Laura (Laura) Pergolizzi was born on March 18, 1981, in Long Island, New York. Her mother is Neapolitan and her father is half Sicilian, half Irish. She graduated from Walt Whitman High School in 1996 and moved to New York, where she took the initials of her name as a pseudonym – “LP”.
In 2010, she moved to Los Angeles to develop her career as a songwriter and eventually performing musician.
